Tips

1. Do not fight spammers. They usually have more resources and are more technical than you.
2. Set up your email so you do NOT view email as html. Otherwise, a spammer can put a 1x1 pixel that contains your email address. When you view the email, then the image will be displayed on your email. The spammer just now has to look at his/her logfiles to determine which emails are valid.
3. Make a link point to <A HREF="mailto:postmaster@[127.0.0.1]">some text</A>, like this. Poorly written harvesters will spam themselves.
4. You could make the link a 1x1 pixel that is a link to a webpage such as this one. That way you are fighting spam without drawing attention to yourself.
5. Use seperate emails for sending and receiving.
6. Use a seperate email for all internet accounts that give you a username and password.
7. Learn how to use filters.
8. Never respond to a remove me. It is a trap. If you respond, they know your email is valid.

Some marketers use the term UCE to describe the type of spam they perform. Some marketers would like you to believe that they only solicit to people who request their services, lie. By the way, why does Microsoft make you check a box so you do not receive UCE? Screen Shot

They whine about mailbombs are illegal, which they are. But isn't using my email box (computer resources) across state lines to send UCE (unsolicited commercial email) a form of a mail bomb?
